For each set, the radius the picture that is best about relative error would need, divided by the radius the picture built for places of equal size needs: 1.77 times for five towns, 1.37 times for four cities, 1.26 times for five cities, 1.63 times for eight cities. The two pictures answer different questions — one charges an error in proportion to the distance, the other charges every kilometre the same — and the arrangement that wins one loses the other by between a quarter and three quarters.
